Your mental health should be your priority. If you can think straight, then every other thing in your life will flow effectively, but if you are not able to think straight because of the things that are happening around you, you will develop some negative energy. Relationships can either make you or break you. However, once some people get so deep into a relationship, they forget themselves and what they stand for. They end up having a fear of leaving the relationship because of what people will say. Staying in a toxic relationship takes a toll on your mental health in different ways, some of which you may be aware of and other ways that you may not even notice.

You become Negative towards Everything and Everyone.

Once you have been in a toxic relationship for a long, you start developing a negative attitude towards everything and everyone around you. You start feeling as though the people you spend your time with have bad intentions with you. In addition, when a friend or a family member tries talking to you about quitting the relationship, you always see them as they don’t want the best for you. This is because you have built a wall around you that you are not willing to let anyone in.

You develop Low Self-esteem.
