Self-confidence
Self-confidence is an attitude toward one’s skills and abilities that is not arrogant but realistic and secure in facing challenges. It is not necessary to feel superior to others to be confident. Instead, it implies that you accept and trust yourself and have a sense of control over your life. High self-esteem is what we should aim for because it puts us in a situation where we can be honest about what we need and the people around us.
The three types of self-confidence
1.) Inflated self-confidence
People with inflated self-esteem tend to believe that they are superior to others and are constantly ready to undervalue others’ abilities. It is an inferior sort of self-esteem since it prohibits those who have it from building meaningful and healthy connections with their peers and family members. They constantly want to be ahead and do not mind harming people to get the achievement they seek, thinking that will satisfy them.
Individuals with a high sense of self-worth cannot listen to what others say. Instead, they continually blame and undervalue others and adopt a hostile attitude and conduct toward those around them. They are constantly ready to boast of concealing their ineptitude, and they have a massive fear of rejection and failure, which is why they feel the need to cover their incompetence with bravado.
