Things My Mother Told Me As A Child
Childhood is a nice stage because of the innocence and purity that comes with it. They believe and trust their mothers without a second thought. Knowing that their mother loves, cares, and means them well in whatever they say. Even when they can’t prove it, just the fact that there is no reason to doubt their mothers brings a strong bond and attachment.
If you’re a mother then you understand what I am saying. Currently, when I look at my children Grace and Joseph, and the generation at large I can’t stop wondering what has changed upon a child’s upbringing? As old as 5 years, he knows almost everything. I can’t forget when my son Joseph came and asked whether his school friend would become his girlfriend because he loved her?
I got puzzled and had to do some good explaining of why he wasn’t allowed to have a girlfriend at the time until he was 18 years. During the 80’s I never heard of anything called a girlfriend at an early age. Do you know what my mother told me when I asked for the third sibling after welcoming the second-born brother from the hospital?
“Mother, where did you get my brother?” I asked
“I bought him from the hospital”, was her reply. I grew up knowing that children are just bought from the hospitals, all you need is money and then you get yourself a baby. Ohhhhh, I can’t stop laughing at…
